About

What this site is, and isn’t

An independent, plain-spoken guide to the Austin commercial real estate market — not a brokerage, not a listing service.

What this site covers

Commercial Austin explains how the commercial property market in Austin, Texas actually works — the four asset classes (office, retail, industrial and mixed-use), the districts that define each, and where the market cycle stands as the region absorbs a decade of fast building. It is written for owners, tenants, investors and anyone trying to understand the city’s built landscape, in clear language rather than brokerage jargon.

What this site is not

This is editorial, not a transaction. We do not list space for lease, broker deals, or publish rankings or awards of firms, brokers or buildings. When we name a district, a project or a figure, it is to explain the market, not to sell you something. Every number here is a general range for context; verify current figures with a licensed professional before you act on them.

Our approach

Every page is built to be useful, honest and free of clutter. No pop-ups, no paywalls, no auto-playing video — just clear information presented well, and kept current as the market moves.

Who publishes this

Commercial Austin is part of the WholeTech Network, an independent Austin, Texas publisher that has been building websites since 1996, starting with one of Austin’s first online communities. Today the network spans more than a hundred sites, each focused on a specific topic, all built Agents First so they are as usable by AI agents as by people.
